A luxurious hotel near Kamala Beach

Hyatt Regency Phuket Resort is nestled on the hillside overlooking Kamala Bay at the southern tip of Kamala Beach. Terraced up the lush hill, this luxurious resort offers stunning panoramic views of the Andaman Sea and breathtaking sunsets from most of its 201 guestrooms. Featuring 201 skillfully designed and spacious rooms and suites, some with private pools or hot tubs, each offering comfort and private balconies and terraces to enjoy the sea view to ensure a memorable stay.

Hyatt Regency Phuket features four restaurants where guests can enjoy culinary delights. The hotel also offers facilities such as the Camp Hyatt poolside kids club, a fitness center, an outdoor seafront infinity pool, a dive center, and a professional spa. The Nahm Spa at the resort offers four private spa suites where professional therapists provide Thai specialist massages as well as herbal and aromatic treatments.

The Hyatt Regency Phuket is widely considered one of the best 5-star hotels in Phuket due to its great beachfront location, sea view, value for money, family rooms, and overall comfort.

The location

Hyatt Regency Phuket is situated in the southern part of Kamala, directly across from the secluded Rayee Beach. The superb resort is only 5 minutes away from Kamala Beach and 10 minutes away from Surin Beach. The popular Patong Beach, known for its numerous restaurants, shops, bars, and vibrant nightlife, is just 9 km south. To get to the stunning Kata Beach and its little sister Kata Noi Beach, you’ll need to travel 20 km to the south. While they are a bit further away, it’s definitely worth a visit.

Phuket International Airport is situated 30 km to the north and takes approximately 40 minutes to reach by car or taxi. Phuket Old Town, which is home to the Sunday Walking Street market, as well as numerous coffee shops, restaurants, and boutiques, is located 20 km away. Because of heavy traffic, it is recommended to leave the resort early in order to reach Phuket Old Town promptly.

The Suite

Hyatt Regency Phuket features 201 guestrooms, 184 ocean-view rooms, and 17 luxury suites ranging from 46 to 235 sqm. I stayed in a luxurious Hilltop Ocean View Suite located at the highest point of the resort, providing panoramic views of the Andaman Sea and stunning sunsets.

With 82 sqm well-designed of bedroom space, a separate living room, one king-size bed, a large bathroom, and 2 private balconies, it provides ample room for relaxation and comfort. The spacious living room features a comfortable sofa with colorful pillows, two 65” LED TVs with cable and satellite channels, and a private balcony overlooking the ocean.

The bedroom boasts a king-size bed with a 65” LED TV on the right wall, a useful desk, a large wardrobe, and another private balcony with views. The bathroom is large with a separate toilet, walk-in shower, and bathtub, countless bathroom amenities, and complimentary toiletries.

This suite of Hyatt Regency Phuket, is carefully equipped with air conditioning with individual climate control, fast WI-FI, numerous plugs, a minibar, tea/coffee maker, and all room amenities you can expect from a 5-star hotel to meet the guest’s needs. Since the suite is perched at the highest point of the hotel, it provides a buggy service. It would be good to call the buggy a few minutes in advance as it takes a little time for each move to accommodate the numerous requests of the guests.

Casa Boho

Casa Boho is a casual Latin American restaurant perched high above the Hyatt Regency Phuket, offering breathtaking ocean views and stunning sunsets. Situated on the hillside, it provides an exceptional panorama of the entire hotel and Rayee Beach. The restaurant draws inspiration from a well-designed Bohemian rustic concept, welcoming, comfortable, featuring unique details with a colorful ambiance. It serves Latin American cuisine prepared by the talented Chef Fernando with love and passion.

We spent the sunset time on a large daybed by the infinity pool, enjoying 2 excellent Aperol Spritz and tasting some delicious tapas while watching the sunset. For dinner, we moved to a comfortable table, treating ourselves to Arroz con Mariscos (Seafood risotto) and Grilled Angus Ribeye paired with excellent red wine. The food was excellent, and the service was top-notch at the restaurant. We dined in a luxurious and relaxing atmosphere, accompanied by wonderful music, while admiring impressive views over the Andaman Sea. The restaurant is open also for the outdoors and booking in advance is required.

Mizu Teppanyaki

Mizu Teppanyaki is an elegant and cozy Japanese restaurant located at the Hyatt Regency Phuket, by the pool, that serves excellent Japanese dishes. The restaurant is artistically designed with warm interiors, an open kitchen, and wide windows that let in natural light, creating an intimate and romantic atmosphere, especially at sunset. It’s the ideal place to indulge in exquisite and refined Japanese dishes prepared by talented chefs who take you on a journey of handcrafted showmanship and artistic prowess.

Be sure to try the Wagyu beef and the freshest catches from the ocean, prepared in front of you amidst beautiful, contemporary settings against the backdrop of the Andaman Sea. To dine at this establishment, it is recommended to wear smart casual attire and make a reservation in advance.

The Pool House Kitchen

The Pool House Kitchen is the all-day dining restaurant of the Hyatt Regency Phuket that serves International cuisine, Thai cuisine and Indian selection, located by the pool offering a pleasant sea view. The restaurant is wisely designed with modern and casual interiors, wide windows to let in plenty of natural light and offer nice view of the immense swimming pool. It also offers outdoor seating enjoying tropical temperatures and ocean views.

It opens at 7 am with an impressive breakfast buffet with cooking stations, espresso coffee, pastries, and other food to satisfy the guest needs. The menu offers a vast choice of dishes skillfully prepared by a talented team at Hyatt Regency Phuket. All food is Halal certified.

Nahm Spa

Nahm Spa at the Hyatt Regency Phuket is an excellent spa that offers a wide range of treatments and packages to meet your specific needs. The spa menu is extensive and features options such as facials, body treatments, aromatic oils, and professional massage techniques.

I enjoyed a one-hour Candle and Aromatherapy massage in one of their treatment rooms, and it was a great way to release the tension after a long working day. Nahm Spa is the perfect place to recharge and rejuvenate, especially when you’re on a tropical island like Phuket. I would recommend booking your spa session early, perhaps even after breakfast, especially if you think it might rain, as everyone else will have the same idea. Hours: 9 am – 10 pm.
